Hello everyone! Today I’m sharing a slimline shaker card featuring the Baby Bunnies stamp set from Isabel Cristina’s February release. As soon as I saw these adorable images, I knew they would be perfect for a fun baby-themed shaker card!
Supplies Used
- Isabel Cristina Designs Baby Bunnies Digital Stamp Set
- Trinity Stamps Slimline Stitched Frame Dies
- Neenah 80lb Solar White Cardstock
- Copic Markers (listed below)
- Prismacolor Pencils (listed below)
- DCWV Pastel Patterns Paper Pack
- Silhouette Studio + Silhouette Cameo (for sentiment)
- Acetate sheet, foam tape, sequins mix
Coloring the Images
I printed the Baby Bunnies images on Neenah 80lb Solar White cardstock and colored them with the following Copic markers:
- Bunny (top): W3, W1, W0, W00
- Bunny (bottom): E30, E31, E50
- Cheeks & ears: R20, R00
To add more variety, I included extra images from Isabel Cristina’s Baby/Christmas Train set. I colored the blocks and rattle with Prismacolor Pencils: PC919, PC1011, PC1084, and PC920.
Creating the Slimline Shaker Base
For the card base, I cut a panel with the Trinity Stamps Slimline Stitched Frame Dies and attached acetate to the back. Normally I ink-blend my backgrounds, but this time I chose patterned paper from the DCWV Pastel Patterns pack. The soft pastel colors were perfect for a baby card background.
For the sentiment, I used the digital stamp, created an offset in Silhouette Studio, and cut it with my Silhouette Cameo. By stacking and gluing several layers together, I gave the sentiment extra dimension.
Assembling the Shaker Card
To build the shaker element:
- I added foam tape to the back of the window panel to create wells.
- I placed a mix of sequins inside the wells.
- I sealed the back with a pastel blue panel.
Finally, I arranged the bunnies, blocks, rattle, and sentiment across the card. Once I was happy with the placement, I glued everything down securely.
Final Thoughts
This was such a fun slimline shaker card to make! The Baby Bunnies images are absolutely adorable and pair beautifully with pastel papers for baby shower cards or new baby congratulations.
I hope this tutorial inspires you to try making your own baby shaker card. Thanks so much for stopping by! – Mona
