Clean and Simple Anniversary Card

by Mona Gandecha

I am so happy to be sharing a new project with you on the blog again! My last two posts were roundups of favorite cards from 2024 and the first half of 2025, but it’s been a while since I’ve walked through the details of a single design. Today I’m back with a clean and simple anniversary card that reminded me just how much I love creating with a minimal style.

Featuring Lawn Fawn’s I Heart Panda Stamp Set Bundle

When I sat down to make this card, I wanted to keep it simple and let the image shine. In this card, I chose a cute panda from Lawn Fawn’s I Heart Panda stamp set. I love Pandas! When my husband gifted me this stamp set bundle for Valentine’s Day, I knew I would use it in a lot of card designs. There is also an add-on set you can purchase from Lawn Fawn, as well as coordinating dies and coloring stencils.

Step-by-Step Cardmaking Process

I started with a piece of white cardstock, which is my first choice for a clean backdrop. I trimmed it to 4″ × 5.25″ panel so it would layer neatly on an A2 card base (4.25″ × 5.5″). To make stamping easier, I kept the panel flat while I built the scene. Next, I stamped and cut out all the images with the coordinating dies.

Coloring was quick and fun thanks to the coordinating stencils that come with this set. I lined up the stencils over the images and colored them with Distress Inks. I used Antique Linen and Spun Sugar for the panda, Rustic Wilderness, Mowed Lawn, and Twisted Citron for the bamboo and leaves, and Candied Apple and Black Soot for the tiny ladybug.

Next, I placed the card panel in my stamp platform and arranged the images along with the sentiment to plan out the layout. Once I was happy with the positioning, I removed everything except the sentiment stamp, inked it up, and stamped it directly onto the card panel. With the sentiment in place, I glued the bamboo stems flat onto the panel and then popped the panda up with foam tape to create some dimension.

To finish the design, I added three tiny red hearts for an extra pop of color and bit more dimension. Once everything was complete, I attached the finished panel to the card base with a thin layer of foam tape for lift.

Final Thoughts on This Card Design

I love how this design turned out. It feels clean, simple, and heartfelt, and I really liked how easily it came together. One of the reasons I love creating in a clean and simple style is that less really can be more. When you keep the design minimal, every element has room to shine. A crisp white background, a strong sentiment, and a single focal image can feel just as powerful as a card filled with lots of layers and embellishments. In fact, the simplicity often makes the message stand out even more! This is exactly what I wanted in this anniversary card.

Thanks so much for stopping by! I hope this card inspires you to try a clean and simple design for your next celebration.
