Hello crafty friends! I’m so excited to share another style of box card with you today. For this project, I used the My Favorite Things Outside the Box Level Up Die-namics, which has been on my wish list for ages. I finally ordered it along with the Outside the Box Grassy Hills Die-namics, and I have to say, it’s one of the best purchases I’ve made in a long time! I love how the angled shelves stack so neatly and how the arched background frames the scene. Plus, it’s honestly one of the easiest interactive cards to put together.
Choosing the Fairy Friends Theme
Since I needed more birthday cards in my stash, I decided to create one using the adorable fairies from Lawn Fawn’s Fairy Friends stamp set. I colored the images with Copic markers and created a soft cloud background by blending Distress Ink over a stencil. Coloring skin and hair isn’t my strongest skill, so I took my time with those details. The small images were perfect practice!
Preparing the Box Card Base
For the box itself, I cut the die pieces from patterned paper that matched my color scheme, then cut the grass from green cardstock and blended Distress Ink over the edges for a bit of shading.
Assembling the Interactive Card
Once everything was ready, it was time for my favorite step—assembly! I arranged the fairies and other images along the grassy layers until I was happy with the layout, then attached everything with liquid glue.
Final Thoughts on This Project
This card was so much fun to make, and I love how it turned out. As I was working, I kept thinking of more ideas for future box cards with different stamp sets—so stay tuned, I’ll definitely be sharing more soon!
