Lots of Heart Shaker Card

Lots of Heart Shaker Card

Hello crafty friends! Today I’m excited to share a handmade shaker card that I created for the Lawn Fawnatics Challenge – Lots of Heart. Shaker cards are some of my favorites to make because they add such a fun, interactive element. For this project, I reached for the Lawn Fawn Special Delivery stamp set along with a mix of dies.

This stamp set is extra special to me. My husband surprised me with it last year along with some other Lawn Fawn goodies! I’ve already made a couple of cards featuring the adorable owl, but for this card I wanted to switch things up and highlight the sweet bird instead.

Supplies I Used

Here are the main supplies that brought this heart-themed shaker card to life:

  • Lawn Fawn Special Delivery stamp set (bird image)
  • Lawn Fawn Wavy Sayings stamp set (sentiment)
  • Lawn Fawn Stitched Rectangle Frames (for the shaker window)
  • Lawn Fawn Puffy Cloud Borders (top of card and stencil for background sky)
  • Yay Kites! Cloud dies (background sky)
  • Lawn Fawn Shadow Box Rainbow Add-On (rainbow detail)
  • Lawn Fawn Simply Wavy Banners (sentiment banner)
  • Lawn Fawn Say What? Gift Tags (small heart accents)
  • Copics: Y11, Y13, Y15 (yellow); BG11, BG13, BG15 (teal); RV21, RV23, RV25 (pink); YR09, YR04, YR01 (orange)
  • Distress Ink: Salvaged Patina (clouds); Worn Lipstick, Spiced Marmalade, Mustard Seed, Twisted Citron, and Salvaged Patina (rainbow)

How I Made This Heart Shaker Card

  1. Background & Frame – I started by cutting a multiple stitched rectangle frame with the Stitched Rectangular Frames die and glued them together to form the shaker window. I ink blended a soft cloudy background using a stencil I cut out of Puffy Cloud Borders and Distress Ink.
  2. Coloring the Bird – I stamped the little bird from Special Delivery and colored it with Copic markers for a cheerful pop of color.
  3. Rainbow & Clouds – I cut out a rainbow and clouds with Shadow Box Rainbow Add-On, Yay Kites!, Puffy Cloud Borders dies and added them to the top of the card to create extra layers of interest.
  4. Shaker Element – I assembled the shaker with sequins and small heart confetti I cut out with heart dies included in the Say What? Gift Tags die to match the theme.
  5. Finishing Touches – The sentiment was stamped on a Simply Wavy Banner, and I layered everything together for a fun, dimensional look.

Final Thoughts

I had so much fun creating this interactive shaker card for the Lawn Fawnatics Lots of Heart Challenge. The bright colors, playful rainbow, and sweet bird make it perfect for Valentine’s Day or any occasion when you want to send a little extra love.

I hope this card inspires you to try making your own heart-themed shaker card! If you do, let me know what supplies you use. I’d love to see your creations.

Thanks so much for stopping by! – Mona
