Hello crafty friends! It’s been a while since I picked up my Prismacolor pencils, so I decided to practice with a no-line coloring technique on craft cardstock. For this project, I created a clean and simple card using the adorable Mama Elephant Wish Upon a Star stamp set. I’ve owned this set for quite some time, but I’m finally getting the chance to use it. All of the images are so cute, it was hard to choose just one!
Stamping the Image
After picking my image, I stamped the image onto a card panel cut with Lawn Fawn’s Inside Out Stitched Rectangle die. To keep the no-line effect, I used Versamark ink, which gave me a faint outline to follow while coloring.
Coloring with Prismacolor Pencils
I took my time with the Prismacolor pencils, making sure to keep the points sharp for smooth blending. Layer by layer, the image came to life with soft, detailed shading. This technique takes patience, but the results are so worth it! Here are the colors I used:
- Cloud: PC1103, PC938, PC1060, PC1061, PC1063
- Bunny: PC1068, PC1069, PC1070, PC1072, PC1074, PC928
- Stars: PC916, PC1011
Adding the Sentiment and Finishing Touches
Once the coloring was complete, I heat-embossed a sentiment from the same set in white, just beneath the image. Then, I adhered the finished panel to an A2 card base for a clean and simple look.
Final Thoughts
This card was such a relaxing project to make. I really enjoyed working with my colored pencils again, and I hope to reach for them more often in future projects. If you’re looking for a way to slow down and enjoy the process, I highly recommend trying no-line coloring with Prismacolor pencils. It’s both calming and rewarding!
Thanks so much for stopping by! – Mona
