Waffle Flower Weekly Challenge – Color Crush

by Mona Gandecha

Hello, crafty friends! I’m so excited to be back with a special project for the Waffle Flower Weekly Challenge. I absolutely love participating in card making challenges. So naturally, since I’m a big fan of Waffle Flower products, I was thrilled when Galina invited me to be a guest designer for this week’s challenge.

My Color Choice: Turquoise

The theme for this challenge is Color Crush – Use Your Favorite Color, and it didn’t take me long to decide on my favorite color: turquoise. It’s such a fresh, happy color that I use often in my handmade cards. I highlighted it with a clean, simple design using one of my favorite sets—Waffle Flower’s Be Her.

Creating the Unicorn Card

I started by stamping the unicorn and wand from the Be Her set onto white cardstock. Next, I colored it with the following Copic markers: BG10, BG11, BG13, BG18.

Then, I created a window panel using the A2 Layers die paired with a circle from the Nesting Circle die set. After die-cutting, I adhered the window panel over a turquoise polka dot background from the Half-Half Dots Unicorn Paper Pad. The foam tape added just the right amount of dimension.

Finally, I finished the card front by placing the unicorn and wand inside the window and stamped a sweet sentiment from the Tender Blooms Stamp Set below. The result is a clean and simple card with a cheerful pop of turquoise.
