So far the only interactive cards I have made are shaker cards and they are so much fun! So, I thought maybe I would try and make another type of interactive card after seeing Lawn Fawn’s latest challenge.

I had ordered Lawn Fawn’s Let’s Toast Pull Add-On die many months ago and for some reason had not tried it out. I went through my stamps to see which images would be good to attach to a pull tab and settled on Lawn Fawn’s Blue Skies stamp set. When I saw this stamp set, I knew I had to have it because hot air balloons are so beautiful! Riding in one is also something I would love to do one day!
For this card, I blended some distress ink on an A2 size card panel to create a blue sky. I stamped out the hot air balloon images onto watercolor paper with Versafine Black Onyx ink. I covered them with clear embossing powder and heat set them. Then, I colored them with my Arteza Real Brush Pens and water. While the images were drying, I stamped out some clouds from Lawn Fawn’s Yay Kite’s stamp set. Then, I cut all the images out with my Brother Scan N Cut.
I thought it would be nice to have a cloud border to hide part of one of the balloons. This way the user of the card would be able to pull on the tab and reveal the rest of it. I cut out the cloud border using Lawn Fawn’s Puffy Cloud Borders die. I held it against the bottom to see how tall I wanted it and trimmed off the excess. Next, I stamped the sentiment onto the center of the border.
Since this was the first time I was making a card like this, I took all my cut images and laid them out to see where I would cut the slider element on the card. After some adjusting, I settled on a good placement and cut everything out.
To finish the card, first I attached the small hot air balloon to the pull tab. Next, I put some foam tape behind the cloud border making sure I allowed enough space for the balloon to go down into the clouds. I attached it and then placed all the other images onto the card panel. I attached foam tape behind the card panel and adhered it to a top folding notecard.

This was a really fun card to make! I would say it was challenging lining all the stuff up but now that I have done this once, I know the next one I make will be even easier!
Thanks for stopping by! – Mona
