Merry Wishes!

AB studio winter owl ID 837

Hello again! As we approach Christmas, I have been busy finishing up gift tags for presents. This time I used the cute little winter owl ID-837 from AB studio to make a shaker gift tag.

First, I stamped and colored the owl with the following Copic markers: BV00, BV02, BV04, W0, W1, W3, W5. Next, I used the Shaker Tag dies from Avery Elle to cut out the tag’s front frame and back. I used the Birch Tree Background die from Gina Marie Designs to cut out the birch trees. I cut the birch trees to the same size as the tags and then set them aside and started working on the background.

I decided to use some purple in the background and mixed in some turquoise and green as well. To do this, I blended Distress Oxide in Wilted Violet, Peacock Feathers, and Cracked Pistachio. This was the first time I used this mix of colors, and I really liked the combination when I was done blending! I spattered some water over the blended background to create a bit of texture.

Once the background was dry, I arranged the birch trees and glued them on. I also added the birch trees to the frame and then added acetate to the frame’s back. I placed two layers of foam tape around the frame to create a well and filled it in with a mix of confetti and sequins. I carefully attached the background to the frame and then the image to the front.

I finished the tag by stamping Merry Wishes from Lawn Fawn Tiny Tag Sayings onto one of the dies from the Scallop Circle Gift Tag, also from Lawn Fawn. I added this to the top of the tag with some satin ribbon.

I have one more holiday gift tag project I plan on sharing later this week, so stay tuned! Thanks for stopping by! – Mona
