My Favorite Things Watercolor Wash Free Form Stencil

Birthday card using My Favorite Things Water Color Wash Stencil and Birth-Yay stamp set

Hello friends! I hope everyone had a great week! Today I am sharing another clean and simple birthday card using a stencil background. Since it was released, I have wanted the Watercolor Wash Free Form Stencil from My Favorite Things, but it was always out of stock. I was finally able to order it a few weeks ago and decided to use it on this card.

I stamped out the biggest image from My Favorite Things Birth-Yay stamp set to make this card. This image is so adorable. I love how all the animals are stacked on top of one another. I colored the images using the following Copic markers:
Rhino: W00, W0, W1, W3
Monkey: E59, E57, E55, E53, E51, E50
Turtle: YG01, YG03, YG17, E47, E44, E43, E42, E41, E40
Parrot: C5, C3, C1, C0, C00, B04, B02, B00, Y15, Y13, Y11, RV25, RV23, RV21
Cupcake/Hats: RV25, RV23, RV21, Y15, Y13, Y11

Once I was done coloring, I cut out the image using my Brother ScanNCut and set it aside so I could start working on my background. I centered and taped the Watercolor Wash Free Form Stencil over an A2 size piece of cardstock and taped it into place. Next, I positioned Lawn Fawn’s Hillside stencil over the Free From Stencil. I blended Twisted Citron and Mowed Lawn Distress Ink over it to create the hill. I used Salty Ocean Distress Ink over Lawn Fawn’s Cloudy Stencil to create the cloud background. The Hillside stencil from Lawn Fawn is really nice because you can use the other end to mask off the hill, so it made adding the clouds so much easier!

I stamped the sentiment onto some black cardstock with Versamark ink, sprinkled some white embossing powder over it, and heat set it. I cut out the sentiment and added foam tape to its back and the back of my image. Once I was happy with the placement over the background, I secured it down.

This card was so much fun to make. I really love this stenciled background, and I feel I have so many options for future backgrounds for my cards!
