Holiday Village Display Card

Concord & 9th Yuletide Lane

During the Black Friday sales, one of the die and stamp set combinations that really stood out to me was the Yuletide Lane dies and coordinating stamp set from Concord & 9th. I knew as soon as I saw it that it would be a lot of fun to put together, and I envisioned creating a three-house village that could spread across the card and stand up as a display.

Color Palette & Die Cutting

I decided to make the houses and the other pieces in a mix of corals, yellows, and teals, so I pulled the following papers from Concord & 9th to cut all the pieces out of:

Teal

  • Aqua Sky
  • Oceanside

Coral

  • Nectar
  • Grapefruit
  • Sorbet

Yellow

  • Buttercup
  • Sunflower

I cut the trees and wreath out of Sea Glass and Juniper cardstock and the window glass out of Powder cardstock. I wanted to have some sparkle to the snow on the roof, windows, and tree tops so I decided to cut all the snow pieces with Lawn Fawn Sparkle cardstock in Pixie Dust

Stamping & Assembly

Once all the pieces were cut with the dies, I stamped the lines, bricks, door panels, and tree details with the coordinating stamp set in the matching ink colors. One thing I love so much about Concord & 9th cardstock beyond the beautiful colors is that they have matching ink for each cardstock color. Their website also has so many great color combinations, and the shades really work beautifully together. Next, I assembled the wreath and banners. For some extra sparkle, I added some Stickles (Star Dust) to the berries on the wreath and on the large snowflake. Finally, I added all the pieces onto each house.

To assemble the card, I started by attaching the individual houses together. The house portion of the die includes small tabs that make it easy to glue one house to the next. For the third house, I simply trimmed the tab off to create a clean edge. Concord & 9th does a great job showing how all the pieces fit together on their website, which makes the process very straightforward.

There are so many ways you can use this die, which makes it incredibly versatile. You can create a long village by adding multiple houses, or use a single house on a card panel if you don’t want to attach them together.

Final Thoughts

This is a die that’s really easy to build a card with! I had so much fun die cutting and assembling this project, and I can’t wait to pull this set out again next year to try new color combinations. Do you enjoy creating village scenes with dies for the holidays? If so, I’d love to hear what type of projects you’ve made and which dies are your favorites!

Thanks so much for stopping by!
